Charlotte has been going to daycare for a week now. She’s doing great and she’s always cheerful when I pick her up at the end of the day. Her “teachers” are all wonderful and she has a day full of enriching and varied activities. Andrew and I have been dropping her off together each morning and I will say that first day, handing her over and walking out the door was very difficult. I’ll admit I got a little weepy.
Although Charlotte has been doing just fine in daycare, we have yet to find a good morning routine. The goal of being out the door at 7am has now happened twice in six days. That’s not too bad, however, she’s also been waking up at around 5am to eat…and mommy has to be at 5:45 to get ready – so we’re still working out our timing.
She’s becoming more consistent on when she gets tired, but we’re still not smart enough to start the bedtime process right away (or be home at the right time) .
She’s been sleeping in her crib now for four nights and she’s been doing pretty well. She takes naps in her crib at daycare, so we thought – no time like the present.
Unfortunately, we managed to time this with a growth spurt, so she was up about every 2-3 hours and eating non-stop for the first three nights which was exhausting. Last night she finally slept a good 4.5 hours for the first block and three hours for the next, so we’re getting close to the old schedule.
Charlotte has also been talking up a storm recently! She’s chirping and cooing all the time and has been stringing sounds together every once in a while. My favorite one sounds something like “ah-goo-vah.” She makes that noise consistenly when she’s really happy, not sure what it means, but it’s freaking cute!
