3 months!

Charlotte is now three months old! She’s becoming a real little person. She finds some things entertaining and others not. She smiles, coos in response to us saying something, blows spit-bubble raspberries (although not dependably)  and is just days away from squeals of joy – she’s trying! She’s also been sleeping slightly longer each night – although some nights we regress to shorter blocks. We’re hopeful the longer ones will become more common soon!

Unofficial Stats:

Weight: 10 lbs 9 oz     (I think this is the last weigh-in on our salt scale – it only goes up to 11 pounds)

Height: 21.5 inches (She must have been squirming at her 2 month appointment, I can’t imagine she’s grown a whole inch and a half in just one month. Even for a baby that’s a lot. I’m pretty confident of my measurement as she was very relaxed when we measured her).

We finally got a pic of my sister holding Charlotte. Nicole has been very elusive on the holding baby + picture front but we finally caught one – and all was well.

Charlotte’s Grandma Annie was visiting for the last week and it was great seeing her and Charlotte get to know each other a little better. Grandma introduced Charlotte to the Elmo song and Rubber Ducky. She jiggles on her own when she hears them and she’s been bouncing for them ever since! We’ll try to get a video. We weren’t really planning on getting her hooked on kid songs just yet, but I’ll take Elmo and Rubber Ducky over Barney any day!

We’ve also introduced the munchkin to two jumpers given to us by very generous co-workers of Jessica. Charlotte LOVES them. The first day we put her in the larger bouncer and we fully expected her to freak out as she’s really too small for it, but instead, she started smiling (although the first look we got was the picture below) and then she became completely enthralled with all the toys, although she can’t reach them yet.

The other jumper we introduced her to a few days later. It’s actually probably a better one to start her on, it’s a little less chaotic with toys and we can adjust it’s height so she can touch the floor better. We put a towel around her middle to help keep her centered in the seat. It’s a little funny, it seems her right leg is a little stronger than her left so she goes in circles at the moment. Austin is not quite sure what to make of this whole floating baby thing, but it’s been entertaining to watch him. We attempted to put him in the jumper (as he is the official baby gear tester) but he was less than enthusiastic and stayed in it for about .0001 seconds.

Charlotte starts daycare on Tuesday – I’m sure it will be harder on me than on her, but luckily I’m only working a half day so I can pop in for a visit in the afternoon.

Monday (8/30) is her 100th picture day! Look to our flickr link soon to see how we chose to commemorate it!
