A quiet final week and back to work

So, last week was the end of my time at home with Charlotte. We enjoyed our days taking walks at the mall, running little errands, and just snuggling on the couch. Perfect.

Her favorite activity is to stand on my lap and bounce around. Sometimes I can just hold her hands and she balances…sort of. She’s such a strong munchkin. My sister and I skipped the crawling stage when we were babies and went straight to standing and walking by about 10 months – I wonder if Charlotte will do the same.

Charlotte went through another growth spurt last week. She’s almost 11 lbs! She was a bottomless pit and slept constantly for about two days. Now she’s back to her normal eating schedule and doesn’t want to sleep AT ALL. We’ve had to get better at timing her last meal to happen just before we want to put her down for the night. So far we’ve managed it about 50% of the time.

Andrew and I are part of the FFX County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). We had to do our annual refresher training last week so we dropped the mucnhkin off at Grandma and Grandpa Miller’s while we attended training. I have to say, the intense physical activity felt good. I don’t want to brag (well, maybe a little) but my team was able to lift the 1000 lbs concrete column off the “victim” (a 4×4 post) and Andrew’s team didn’t. 😉

Charlotte is fitting into some great new outfits! Here are some of them below…

FIRST DAY BACK TO WORK 🙁

Monday was my first day back to work. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I had expected. I think knowing that she was at home with Andrew, and not with strangers, made it a lot easier. Also, that morning before I left for work she blew her first razberry. Andrew was playing with her on the bed – blowing razberries at her – and she blew back! She’s still not very good at it, but it’s so freaking adorable to watch her try.  You can tell she’s concentrating very hard. Right now we just get some spit bubbles, but at that age, even spit bubbles are cute!

Andrew is now home with Charlotte for the next two weeks and he’s promised to add some blog entries during his time at home. We’ll see if we can capture a razberry in action. Now that she’s becoming more interactive, and now that we have super cool iPhone 4s, I’m hoping we’ll be able to start sharing little videos!
